"DON'T CHANGE A THING!" - Jeff P.

posted Mar 20, 2015, 9:58 AM by SDF Academy

This is the 2nd class I have taken with Eli Saber. He made mention in both classes that he likes feedback to help him fine tune his course. Given that request, I feel it incumbent on me to provide what little advice I have for him.  DON'T CHANGE A THING!

A little background. The class is roughly 2 hours from my home, so driving to a lecture class after work is a bit of a challenge. The mind has too much time to go into the catatonic state we all know.  This is where Mr Saber shines!  Not only is he able to keep everyone interested, but also motivated! And I mean EVERYONE.  You look around the class after 3 hours or more of "lecture" and you see wide open eyes. You don't see yawns and people doodling. You are continually engaged. Its not so much a "Lecture" as it is a well orchestrated  group discussion in which everyone participates. Questions arise, and are answered immediately, and succinctly.  Mr Saber has a keen grasp of  the Total Participant Involvement method, and executes it very well.  So, if you are a student considering one of his classes, I'm sure you will find it to be a worthwhile experience. I certainly have!

I wanted to thank you both again for yesterdays class, I had a lot of fun and got a lot out of it.  As you can tell I am still very new to the sport and know there's a lot more I have yet to learn, and I look forward to taking more of your classes in the future.  Hopefully this time in warmer conditions!
Thanks!

This is a formal thank you for all the prep work and expertise you brought to the Pistol instructors class this week.

It is obvious that you have both a passion and skill for excellent gun handling and for instruction of those skills.

I appreciate all your time and efforts to help me participate in this shared passion.

In addition I'd like to formerly state my commitment to take to PPITH module on March 22 and encourage you to run it just as you did this one.

Most Gratefully,

I recently completed a pistol instructor training course and throughout it Dr. Saber’s commitment to and enthusiasm for the shooting sports was evident.  His experience as a professional educator and the deep knowledge he has of the subject matter ensured that I and the other students were consistently engaged and stimulated.  I am already looking forward to another opportunity to take a course from him.

"The program I received was information packed, professionally presented, and taught in an engaging and participatory style." - Paul B.

I was pleased with the quality of instruction by SDF Academy.  Too often, courses of this nature are either crushingly boring, or taught by self-important know-it-alls.  The program I received was information packed, professionally presented, and taught in an engaging and participatory style.  Both novices and experienced students left pleased with newly-acquired knowledge and skills.  Well worth the investment!

"I can recommend to you, without reservation, the services of the SDF Academy" - David R. Colburn

It has been my privilege on three occasions this past year to receive instruction in a variety of firearms related subjects from Dr. Eli Saber and I would like to share this recommendation regarding the services of Dr. Saber and Mr. Chad Juby in the launch of their SDF Academy. Additionally I enjoyed the privilege of introducing Dr. Saber to the Ontario Rod and gun Club where he has become well integrated into the firearms safety and proficiency training efforts of the club and has become heavily involved in the training activities of the club.

Dr. Saber has demonstrated notable professional achievement in the academic realm and established himself as a well-respected teacher, and has also gained a rare skillset in the subject of firearms through the combination of personal combat experience and a very broad base of training. My personal observations are that Dr. Saber brings a unique combination of the thorough knowledge of his subject matter along with his patient and focused teaching techniques, enabling him to skillfully and effectively address the demands of simultaneously teaching a variety of personalities and learning needs within a diverse group of students.

Personally I have taken three classes from Dr. Saber and Mr. Juby: NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home, Tactical Carbine 1, and Tactical Carbine 2; and all three classes were excellent experiences from which I took home a wealth of knowledge, experience, and personal growth in the safe and proficient use of my firearms.

I can recommend to you, without reservation, the services of the SDF Academy for your training needs in the shooting sports and firearms related personal defense development.

Sincerely,

David R. Colburn

"In my opinion, it is absolutely the go-to firearms training provider in the Greater Rochester area" - Troy R.

I have recently had the opportunity to receive training from Dr. Saber of the SDF Academy, in both the Tactical Carbine 1 and Tactical Shotgun courses. I not only left each with one with a wealth of new knowledge and skills, but also thoroughly enjoyed working with Dr. Saber and my fellow students. Having received a substantial amount of firearms training in the past, I find Dr. Sabers talent as an instructor to be matched only by his extensive real-world background and experience in the practical applications of his training courses. You could spend a small fortune and travel across the country, and not receive the level of quality instruction that SDF Academy offers. In my opinion, it is absolutely the go-to firearms training provider in the Greater Rochester area.

I have had the honor to train with Dr. Eli Saber on several courses to date ranging from tactical shotgun to advanced carbine.  His training style, experience and custom curriculum gives you world class experience in Rochester, New York.  I have trained with many different firearms trainers over the years from the US Military to world renowned instructors.  Dr. Saber’s knowledge and training style surpasses them all.  At the end of the course you will be more confident and running your firearm better than you ever thought you could.
