SDFA AR15 Technicalities and Legalities

Abstract:   
This seminar will focus on discussing the technicalities and legalities of building a modern AR15. To this effect, we will focus on selections of muzzle accessories, barrels, gas systems, handguards, forward grips, upper/lower Receivers, pistol vs non-pistol type grips, Thordsen stocks, ambidextrous vs non ambidextrous safeties/mag releases/charge handles/, trigger kits, buffer/buffer tubes/buffer springs, stock assembly, optics, backup iron sights, etc. We will also discuss .223 or 5.56 reloading requirements and techniques for those interested and address questions regarding the legalities of owning or possessing an AR15 in New York State since enactment of the SAFE Act.

Target Audience:

Anyone that is interested in building an AR15 or reconfiguring one to meet NY SAFE Act requirements. This is generally meant for those that are interested in the platform but do not have any experience in building or configuring one or recreational shooters that are planning to compete in rifle or 3 gun type events and want to familiarize themselves to some of the configuration options available.
